Peace...?


The peace dove was the official emblem of the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. An insider later told they chose this symbol because of the extreme turmoil going on in Mexico City at the time. When University students were at odds with the federal government. 250,000 of these doves were produced and distributed. This one remains on the window of a building in Reforma Avenue, 44 years after being originally glued! I've seen others in houses and buildings here and there. And unfortunately the only peace achieved was the murder of up to 300 people by the federal government that year...
