Songs that seemed written for oneself

Haven't you ever thought or experienced that there are songs which seem to have been written for you? Or that the lyrics seemed to have come from someone who's known you for a while? Well, since the late 1990s I've been haunted by a little pop song, "You", by Janet Jackson. I remember perfectly that I bought her Velvet Rope album, in audio tape format in a tacky record shop in a discount mall in Cancún, Mexico, were I was living in 1997. I heard this song, and then I heard it again, countless times but in my head. In fact, I don't hear it often at all these days, but when past habits revisit me, or when I indulge in deeds thought long forgotten, the lyrics come again to remind me of that huge little world I barely let others into. It's kinda one side of my psyche having a little chat with a mischievious side of the other. Anyway, if anyone else feels spoken to by this song, just let me know.
